Question regarding PC's \"Dev Diary\"

I am well aware this isn't PC, but many of the changes seen on PC personally don't seem well thought out. These Dev Diaries are obviously amazing for player clarity, but what are the chances of Xbox receiving these updates? As of lately i've been wanting to play Berserker, to only see him get ultra nerfed on PC. It's off putting, and I don't want to be forced to play Striker either. Between the CC changes that affected him to major nerfs on some of his very iconic moves, it's making me worried that we'd be receiving these changes. Could we perhaps have some clarity regarding if we'd be getting these updates? Or if we'd see Xbox balanced differently?

Yeah I too would like clarity regarding this, I'm stuck between either maining Ranger or Dk, although depending on how they plan to balance the game I might just be a Warrior.

Exactly dude. It's frustrating especially when 1 week the class you like is pretty good, then next week gets nerfed, then rinse and repeat. Identity crisis! Lol.

Most likely Xbox will get the most major and relevant updates PA is satisfied with. Devs usually have to clear each update with Microsoft first before releasing, so they probably wouldn't hit us with each of these small PvP changes every week like we're getting now on PC. Whether they'll give us the changes in one big update or give it at or soon after release is a mystery. Also the game will play a bit differently on console because FPS = Animation Speed. On PC most high tier players are running 144+FPS on a 144hz monitor allowing for faster gameplay and animation speed. 144FPS allows players to increase their DPS up to 50% or so. With Xbox only receiving 30FPS, I wonder how or if they will balance us separately. I'd say no, considering they don't balance the NA/EU version separately with all the server desync that make some classes less effective than they are in KR (Tamers). Combat will definitely be slower. I'm just hoping they are aware of this.. This is an issue I'm sure they can care less about considering KR doesn't have server problems and competitive PC players with high end rigs don't have FPS issues unless it's siege/node wars. I'd say they will turn a blind eye and balance the console version like the rest of the world. I hope I'm wrong.

Good news is the console version will be a bit more fair as far as hardware goes. The only difference will be Xbox One vs Xbox One X users, with the 1X probably having an easier time of keeping a steady 30fps. No need to go out and buy a 1070/1080ti and a 144hz monitor to be competitive.

EDIT: It wouldn't be a bad idea if they sped up the animation speed for all classes by 10-20% or something to offset the difference. With some testing done first of course. Nothing more disheartening than console players looking up guides on their favorite class on youtube, just to find PC players having speedy combos and animation canceling quickly. It would also increase the skill cap. 30FPS makes combos feel really sluggish on PC compared to 144 or even 60. My old PC ran at 30 so I know from experience. It would be nice if  could talk to the devs about this concern. Although if it doesn't change the game will still be fun as hell to play.

Theres no denying we won't get the updates. Yeah no way we'll be getting an update every week. Probably a huge update monthly or something. Weekly on Xbox is too expensive with the cert process for it to be a weekly thing. Keeping it monthly will still be very frequent, and also pack a punch for a lot of content to keep us busy.

For that reason, we can be getting weeks of updates into each piece of content constantly changing the meta and having our feedback change the game since we have weeks compared to PC's 7 days of planning changes.

Your point about it being balanced differently could be wrong. This is a different platform after all and numerous games balance games differently when it comes to console. For example, aim assist is more prominent and put on consoles and is on a lot more of the console versions. Also, often, console versions also get balanced differently in terms of feedback for that platform. Ana for example on Console is not Ana on PC Overwatch.

The combat will be slower and maybe even more laggy than PC, but there is no way they are speeding up animations by 10-20% as this isn't a PC. Begs the question of what I said, will Xbox balance differ from PC.

Bottom line, if you have the X you will have the advantage.

Obviously the 10-20% increase in animation speed was just a suggestion to keep it similar to the PC version if they did not want to balance our version differently. It would mean less work for them, while they continue to work on balancing the PC version as they currently are and allow them to balance both versions equally.

There's a low chance they'll put maximum effort into balancing the console version by buffing and nerfing abilities for different classes when they can't even properly balance the PC version correctly yet.

Everybody running at 30FPS = less DPS for combo classes while less combo-oriented classes like Wiz/Witch become even more difficult to deal with than even the PC version. They can either speed up animations / ability to animation cancel, or balance the game differently with nerfs/buffs. The first is the much simpler choice and it probably won't happen, but it would probably work out fine with some testing involved.

By animation speed, I'm speaking of the delay that exist inbetween skills after a skill animation. A 10% reduction of this delay would resolve the issue of slower combat on console.

The video is a small example and becomes much more noticeable during PvP combat where a single mistake in getting CC'ed = dead.

In no way am I complaining, and only wanted to shine light on an issue that might come up in the future when people begin crying about balance.

I know it's going to be slower. Even the video shows it. Almost twice as fast and even 3x as fast in certain situations. It's a great suggestion. But they are 2 totally different platforms. If it's 30fps, everyone will have 30 fps. So it's even ground. Like I said earlier, Xbox One X will be the best option. Perhaps maybe there can be alternate routes for this idea. Hopefully it isn't left un checked as 30 fps doesn't look too great. Although thats just the PC version. It is optimized for console so it can play out TOTALLY differently.

Dont doubt the ability for PA to oush frequent updates.. as an id@xbox game there are certain perks. Also if they get into the xbox insider program updates and certification are different as well.

Are the cert process's really that different for people on the inside? Good to know. But PA has a lot of work to do before it is released on console as right now the game is in disaster mode.

If you truly like a class you will stick with it no matter what happens to the class I have a DK and a Kunoichi and I will never reroll them no matter what happens to them because no matter how strong the class is that the person you are fighting is using the smarter/more skilled player will always win

Has to be. It seems those games get updates really feequently while in eso we waited a month or longe so for fixes. But i believe its just speculation at this point.
