the gdc 2018 gameplay footage gave some nice insight into the control scheme PA is going to use and i realy like what they came up with except pots menu and the way you get in/out weapon

as you can see here you access pots by holding D-pad up and RS to them

i dislike this decision cos as you can see you need to arrow up, hold it and than choose your pot
idk what else they thought for this menu but the more buffs you put in there the more likely you gona waste em while u try to get the correct one in the heat of the battle

thing im utterly shocked about is the way how you get your weapon in and out
they literally decided to use RS down on it *insert lul*
can we not have this please
theres already some footage of what will happen when you accidentally ogre press that RS down in battle:

so my suggestion on this would be to change put away / take out weapon to LS down + RS down hold for 3 sec to get weapon in/out
if you have it this way on you get into combat stance you have LS down and RS down free for further button input
so you could use LS down for health pot and RS down for mana pot allowing a way smoother more controllable combat experience whilst removing the danger to take your weapon away in combat leaving you standing in the mid of battle like an ideot
or you just might use LS down and RS down for some other much needed stuff like V escape, or take out awakening weapon in battle

How about let us know if we can customize our UI. That would be awesome considering RS= Sprint in this game.

i hope they add some kind of multibutton in it so you could make input like

LB + LT + Dpad up = hotbarskill 1

Yeah like I said. Full customization of controls. We'd have the ability to put it wherever we want for the user.

For me, the circle menu was great and felt really good for a console MMO. That said we will be taking feedback from those who played at GDC and also peoples initial impressions and looking into it.

For me personally I would like to see the 'put away weapon' changed to a different button. From playing ESO having it as hold on left D-pad was really convenient.

Although as long as we can alter the button mapping ourselves once we get the game I don't mind too much what the defaults are.

Can you tell the Dev team working on console port that making put away weapons by holding D pad would be preferable. I'm fine with the potion Wheel its similar to ESO where you have to switch potions to what potions you need at the time. Also RT for sprint really need to be change.

thx for reply - i appreciate

i hope you can see this aswell now cos @GDC this menu sorta was filled with 3 Pots of the same kind top/down which indeed makes usage of pots kinda easy in such scenario
yet my concerns are more forward to when my circle menu is going to look like this and i have to navigate quick and with precision to lets say the Mana pot hundreds of times after another while grinding

pottery2.jpg.ef0522ebe6c121406f0182291cb73e08.jpg

seeing the large quantity you nid to come up with this menu to use pots there is going to be issues with chucking the wrong ones by accident
