I believe I received this somewhere towards the end of the Mediah BS quest line and I literally can't find any information on what it does or what it is used for. It does nothing, all that it says is that it's a quest item.

i believe its a quest item for mediah part 2. whenever we get that

Seal of the Black Sun is used in a quest after you find Maudi Budar's whereabouts. You'll get to use it then. Don't want to spoil the story.

I have found his whereabouts and still haven't found the way to use the seal lol.

have you talked to him? I just don't wanna give away any story bits. Basically, he reveals something and then you use that to give power to something that you have to fight.

I fought it and still have the seal. Maybe this is why Illezra's Threat quest line is bugged and doesn't trigger despite the fact that finishing that fight is the prerequisite. 

Illezra's Threat is an inactive story line. The next quest after you fight that should be Purified Ritual.

I think the issue is we are stuck holding an item that was at the end of the current half of mediah line and have to not destroy it while we wait.

 i have run 2 alts from start through mediah(3 character total through mediah) and 1 up to mediah. Ive done every crossroad path in Heidel and in Mediah to do my due dilligence and get to the same end result.

The issue is when u make a new character, your black spirit quest list has an additional quest listed. Another lvl 51 mediah(something about gloom) i ran 2 characters today(one was 0-53 through mediah and one waa almost to mediah) that quest disappears from our quest log once we start Mediah story. This disappearing quest line includes the story quest needed to unlock offhand upgrade the 3rd time as well as ending with Co-Op awakened black spirit which is needed for starting ilzera Threat quest.

Is this a knows issue that will be fixed in this weeks maitenance

If by "something about gloom" you refer to the quest "The Gloomy Ones" please note that I completed this quest and the end result of the chain (which involved killing stronger helm mobs in the cave) were 3 sharp and hard shards. This I can confirm is working and doable but I think I'm not the only one who will.

I am referring to an actual quest line, no individual quests u received after like the 2 co op bosses, or the individual ones the black spirit has. I have done the helm one as well.

Im refering to a this chain. It disappears.

Tinya's Trust is required for the quest to further upgrade your off hand

Co op awakened black spirit is required for the Ilzera Threat

So we sit on this item for now?

Unrelated, the whole main area in the quest tracker is blank... Is that supposed to happen? lvl 55 if that matters

same here.. i'm @ 55, no main quests anymore.. i think we need to hit 56 to continue the BS quest line?

So I have finished the entire mediah quest line and I still have the seal.. can’t get it out of my inventory without deleting it either since it can’t be stored anywhere. Just don’t want to delete it Incase it is needed for a quest which hasn’t been released yet (which if this is the case then we should be able to store it somewhere until said quest is released)

I have mine in my glish storage. That's my out of the way area for stuff I dont want to delete yet.
