I just got this game about 2 weeks or so ago. Coming over from other MMOs I was a healer so I went for the wizard. But how effective are healers in BDO end game?

Healers really arn't a thing in BD...not really.
the holy trinity doesn't exist in BDO. while some can argue you can build a "healer" spec. the best you can do is this:
Build a hybrid or DP witch/wizard. be a buff bot for your teammates. Other than that, this isnt a Templar from ESO or Astrologian/white mage from FF14.
Everything in Black Desert revolves around pvp and the chance of it. PvP is the end game, not circle mob grinding, not dungeons, not a raid, Guild vs Guild fighting for regions that is black deserts endgame.
Only time to rely on healing from Wizards and Witches are world bosses, large scale pvp, guild boss.

even then dont "rely" on it AoE cap on the heal and healing aura is a targeted heal, so it will only apply to you and one other player. always carry pots moral of the story if you aren't a Witch, Wizard, Mystic, or Valk.

It's a bit disingenuous to state "everything in BD revolves around PVP...it's the end game..." since there is plenty more to do besides that…but your point is taken.

It's not disingenuous, It's the words straight from the Korean Executive Producers - End game of Black Desert is PvP. While you are correct - look at it this way: (note everything listed is stating you are 50+ on level)
Gathering - could be PvPd
Taming a horse - Could be PvP
Grinding for silver - Probably will be PvP
Sea Monster Hunting (later) - Probably will be pvp
Farming - Could be PvP
Once you hit level 50 any point in time you can be forced into a player vs player encounter if you want it or not. Anyone who wants to say they will never come above 50 will only play a gimped version of the game, not being able to do most all the content this game will offer.
If its not Red Battlefield, Arsha 3v3 Arenas, Battle Arena, or Shadow Arena it's open world PK, Guild vs Guilds, Town arenas, or griefing to some extent. Sure you can make anything your personal endgame, but people shouldn't be under the impression they will give Raids, or Dungeons or even "exclusive" PvE servers like many MMOs before BD. It's just not the business model for Black Desert.

My point is though that people play the game how they want to. Thousands just play for Lifeskills...socializing, roleplaying, escaping.
Yes, someone can PvP you...but it's not the norm and there are systems in place to discourage those who are not flagged for PvP to be attacked.
I dislike statements like your because they potentially scare people who have no interest in PvP away from an amazing sandbox MMORPG. It's one thing to say "Everything in Fortnite revolves around PvP" (Or Halo, Battlefield, Etc…), those games are 100% PvP. Regardless of wether BD is build around or for PvP there is so much more to do that I personally find it to be a disingenuous statement.
Just my option
Umm halo and battlefield have campaign and co op. Thats pve. How are they 100% pvp?
As for lifeskillers. Outside of wanting to be awakened(not lifeskill releated) and wanting to do desert trade runs(56+) u could enjoy the lifeskill aspect of the game and stay 49. If u go to 50 u accept a quest that literally forces u to acknowledge that u could be pvped at any time.

My point, and the strength of the game, is that a player can choose to make their endgame what they want. It's just not true to say to anyone you "have to guild-up", "have to PvP", etc...
It might not make sense to you, but some people actually just like to do quests, explore, craft, and live in the world.
Just like it might not make sense to them that some people like to just level up, gear up, and fight each other.
To each their own, that's the beauty of BD.

That's like.. Your opinion man. For some it's breeding horses, going for that Dream one, for some managing a huge working LS empire, some like me love the grind and don't PVP except to spot-fight >..>

Sums my view up nicely. Thank you.
Let me be clear, PvP is a backbone of this game...but the way I play the game is some beautiful Frankenstein with multiple backbones and I love it for that! ??

This is true, but i think what he was saying is that unless you plan to level you horse by walking around town, or doing it on a sub 50 character, there is always a chance that pvp could be involved.
Take SpamSniper for example. He sita around Heidel and just pks anyonr and everyone he can regardless what they are doing. Personally i let him kill me then go back to what i was doing, but once u accept lvl 50 u accept the chance of pvp

Link to quote from devs it's not my opinion it's what the developers tell us.
Repetitive Node/Conquests... A new season will aim to reach a higher degree of completion.
Node/Conquest Wars are the end content of combat in Black Desert Online. But with the updates in the last season, the actual number of wars declared was declining and the intensity that formed among the guilds seemed to have been lifted off to some extent. In some countries, we had cases where a single guild had occupied a territory for 33 consecutive weeks. We needed a change.

Yeah. I was just wondering I'm a big pvper I used to play the arena in world of Warcraft as a healer for pvp so I wasn't quite sure for PvP in this game, thank you. I'm rolling a wizard. So I should just pick a class that will suit me based off my play style without worrying about being a healer.

yeah just have fun, wizards are getting dunked right now because they are easy to pick on but come awakening, they become monsters. Plus Wizard is better suited for PvP over witch because he gets a Grab in awakening which ruins a lot of peoples days to apply a downsmash xD.

No one is arguing that...I think you might be missing the point: They have also created a game that allows you to play how you want. Yes PvP is a big part of the design, but that doesn't force people to PvP if they prefer to do other things. And more options are always better.

That is why to go to level 50 u basically have to do a quest and sign a disclaimer acknowledging pvp

yeah no i get what you are saying, i personally dont pvp unless i HAVE too, it gets on my last nerve dealing with mystics. I lifeskill, grind and see how much money i can make, and how good i can push my gear.
People are so soft in games. Who cares ...you die. Its a simulated world that has some not very nice people. If you want easy then go to barbies playhouse.
I mean seriously suck it up.
All this aside wizards are super useful and wanted amongst guilds

Who even was complaining about PvP here? No one is whining, just debating playability in BD. ?

Except we have no content right now?
Everything about PvP (if you are in the largest guilds or willing to lose your crystals/ranks)
Otherwise this is just a life skill game, unless you enjoy 1map/trash mode(RBF) and/or pay to win players in the arena.
Node war turns into a zergfest and cant do **** unless you are max gear/max size.
This game is turning out poorly...

Ill give it time but they delayed and delayed, just to give us ANOTHER mmo port that should still be in early access.
Chances are I wont stick around unless some major development (like finishing the game) happens before to long.
Lack of content is vomit worthy to have paid money to buy this game, at least at the moment.

Lack of content plenty to do lol whats your ap dp? Tri kzarka all gear tri, tet accesorries??? I doubt it. Did you expect them to put us on the same level of content as pc?? Must be your first mmo thats not smart from a business point.

They make enough from micro transaction, from a business stand point.
Ive played MMOs since the first lineage. Not since this current era of game has a company prided itself in releasing an unfinished game.
Finish the port, extend the beta to early access for 6 months (build a base of players and still have an item shop for revenue). Then release the game when it is ready, instead of rushing production and having to slow roll content for a year because the port team didnt have enough capital

Its smart to roll out content slow no need to rush. More content brings people, more class more people, equals more money. Player base will just keep growing. You should have just stayed on pc if you like the later content. We will get it eventully hope they take their time.
