This might be a silly question, but if the PS4 is put into rest mode will AFK activities still work? Like if I go afk to auto path or fish etc and enter rest mode will they still be active when I come back and start the PS4.

Nop, because when u rest Mode all aplication/game etc.. Close, u can only download and Charging pad. 

Your ps4 need be on.

no they dont. matter of fact just had it happen on sniper elite and game was still running when i resumed. have also done it in path of exile.

can i play another game and still do afk stuff in black desert? Think thats not possibel right? XD

Rest mode keeps the state of the application in memory while it is in rest mode. The application isn't actively running. A good parallel would be sleepmode on a PC/laptop. BDO won't run in sleepmode either.

This game is different. It can't work in rest mode. All work will be stopped
