I did copy, paste from PC version because it's a long history.

This isn't a request to adjust the censorship, nor is it a request to make it dye able. The censorship itself was pointless as one can tell just by looking at the latest costumes released to us from the pearl shop, since the route they took for the Shai is vastly different from what they went for with the other female classes. I don't see any of the 'sexy' or 'revealing' outfits that some people seemed to be afraid of, but rather cute and playful costumes that fit more with the Shai in general.

I made this thread as per the advice given to me by GM team, and it is a subject I feel strongly enough to fight for. The censorship they forced upon us, their customers and player base, is a terrible Frankenstein of a mess. It clashes with most, if not all, outfits and costumes and has a large problem of clipping through outfits especially when sitting or during certain poses. Or simply standing in place, with the case of some.

I don't understand the need of censorship in this day and age to begin with (why not censor Tamer for example? Something of a double standard I think) and the censorship does not affect the so called 'deviants' since they would likely just grab an uncensor patch or a.. nude patch.. and carry on with their ways. The censorship only affects the rest of us, the normal players that just want to purchase cute outfits for our Shai characters that -DO NOT- clash / clip / or just look plain hideous.


I had admittedly purchased pearls before the Shai officially released for us for the purpose of buying the life skill costumes since I wanted to change to a Shai for a main character, and another as a main life skiller. But because of the hideous chop job they did with the censorship, I haven't purchased anything for my Shai. Nor will I unless they remove the censorship. I'm sure there are others doing the same thing.. as they say if they don't listen to reason, speak with your wallets right?

So all I want is the original models returned to us that was intended for the Shai. No pointless censorship, it is an INSULT to us players. If that never happens, so be it. I simply will not spend a penny on my Shai, which is sad because I do like the outfits so far if not for the censorship.

Also to let you know. We are the unique version (EU and NA) that have censure applied to Shai.

This is the subject, there isn't anything indecent and we get punished with ugly censorship.

I won't buy anything for my Shai due this.

The game is rated T for teens so it should be more censorship on other classes not just Shai.

i weep for the future. This is so ridiculous. None of those dresses are indecent. They show shoulders and neck. I think people are projecting their own insecurities if they see anything wrong with the original.

If someone sees something like a lalafell (from ffxiv also rated teen) and sees that as perverted they have problems.

I don't see anything wrong with original textures. Censure only are causing outfits looks worse because you can't customize the color of long shirt censorship.

Nobody asked to wear less clothes..... Outfits and costumes are the same in all regions!

You have to take in mind this censhorsip only are doing Shai is wearing two suits. And not one.

Your first paragraph is exactly what happened with the Shai EU/NA release. So it is censorship? But you say calling it censorship is a Meme. I’m not sure of your point.

I was going to change that since my post was put up before your pics/post loaded on my phone. 

I then reconsidered on this being the sort of conversation I want to have. 

The verbage still sounds meme-y to me, doubly so considering how far removed this version is from anything happening in KR

The cheap and unecessary censorship makes her outfits ugly. Annoying that it messes with bought outfits.

I don't think PA can do anything about it since I believe Microsoft and Sony requested the censorship for said regions out fear of backlash. The fear of backlash can be blame on parents who don't properly see the content of a game before letting their children play a game rated Teen and above and then deflected blame to companies for releasing, or allowed to release, the games on said console. 

As far as the censorship done for the Shai, it is poorly done and it does clip through costumes. I don't want to spend real money on outfits that gets clipped through from poor censorship. Also note that all the Shais are full grown adults in the game and also note that even if the Shai models are used for the human children in the game that does not automatically make the Shais 5 years old. It all comes back to a discussion on whether or not Shais are considered midgets or not in the world of BDO. 

As far as removing the censorship goes it should stay but get an over haul to where it does not clip through costumes or outfits. Does not mean it should be fixed for when they're wearing regular armor as I think undergarments can be shown if they fit the pajama category. At which point it comes down purely to fashion and everyone has their own opinion on how their characters should look.

Bumping this topic to the forefront Sony / PS4 players were unaware you even had Shai censorship until the most recent addition of cross play we had the normal Shai class as it was intended. The clipping is absolutely unacceptable I paid for a specific generic costume box probably to the tune of 6,000+ Pearls so I could be one of the very first Shai's on PS4 to have Venecil (before it was even in the pearl shop.) only to now have one of the longest dresses for a Shai in the game clipping with the leggings textures from censorship.

No one on PS4 was even concerned about the Shai's provocative nature(or lack therof) and out of everyone that I asked-at least 80% of them didn't like the change. Which may cause me to move to PC where I can fix this problem myself on my end.

I don't play this game very often anymore. This change basically guarantees I will never come back. I did purchase a few outfits for my Shai on ps4 and know they will look horrible with these changes because I played some on pc when shai was released. Wouldn't have bought them in the first place if I knew this would happen.

I've been playing Shai exclusively for about 2 months and when I saw the change on March 4, I immediately searched this topic and found that it's still being talked about a year later. That night I went out and purchased a steam card so I could play it on PC. I played maybe an additional 4 days on PS4 and then I got off the game and haven't been on console since. I noticed the first time the Shai got censored(From the bra and panties thing to the pajamas) and I thought that was alright, I guess I understand.Her outfits are all burka/tunics anyway..But then the crossplay event came out and I noticed those horrible gray leggings that can't be dyed and I just couldn't stop thinking about how out of place it looks. I was very vocal about this issue as I sent multiple tickets to PA-I don't appreciate not having a decision or at least a toggle switch. I also don't agree on keeping Lingerie on a Tamer and then censoring a Shai, but nobody wants to talk about that.

This whole situation is just backwards, with performance on console is bad as it is right now, appeasing a small minority of SJW gamers should not be considered priority when they could be making sure the Archer awakening quest actually works, or that we can use the repair function without crashing.

So far I've yet to hear an official statement other than this happened (from the lack of answer.) because of Cross Play with Xbox?. I would like an official CM/GM/ Dev Answer of some sort the lack there of. Makes me uncertain for the future of my own playtime in this game and if I potentially should escalate this to Sony with the changing of ingame purchases.

Also while I cannot find the other forum post anymore While I was looking into the censorship issue the Xbox forum had a post on it I was able to did up that was page and pages long yet seems to have disappeared.It's aggravating I'm back and forth between wanting to quit BDO over it some sort of clarification would be nice, yet PA is silent. Since Day 1 on PS4 I've wanted ot Main a Shai, reserved my name for a Shai. The only thing that seems to work is to be vocal on the boards, and within the BDO console official discord. (as was seen with the Xbox Name Change solution.)

Edit : This entire thread had seemed to disappear for sometime I'm curious why we are allowed to discuss this again but with the silence from PA we will not know.

It has come to my attention that some people do not understand what the censorship is. Censorship comes in many forms and does not necessarily entail 'nudity'. The censorship on the Shai is entirely unnecessary as the costumes and outfits for them are not perverted in any way, shape, or form.

Please take a moment to read what others have posted and see any picture comparisons of the original models and what we were forced to deal with BEFORE making your vote.

You seem like a pedo to me for making such a fuss out of it. Can't you see this class is obviously a child and some people, perhaps even you judging by your outcry, may find it perverse?   Move on with your life. I would be the first to call caps to visit you if I knew where you live.

This character is a 40 year old elf, that's it-that's the role that is assumed. There's no need to mummify the Shai, just learn how to block people on World Chat.

That's how all this started-some stupid players got on WC and SC and started saying things like "selling shai toe pics" and that turned into them covering more of her skin-all because the sensitive snowflakes were too bothered to figure out how to use chat properly.

Censorship as a rule has never not been a big deal-the guys upstairs are always so quick to try and decide things for people based on a whim-they try to sneak it in without notice and hope the discussion dies down. Well, I expressed my concern that people who are very vocal about it are probably sketchy af to say the least. Can't you really see this class is censored to prevent causing sex drive towards a character model that represents a child? Really? You are still going to defend your claim quoting lore of the character being old but looking like a child? This community if full of anime loving pedos who find it arousing and thus it has to be censored. 

I have played WoW on occasion since it released. Only in the past few years have I ever seen only pedos play gnomes. I don't have any respect for that argument and question the maturity of the people who make them.

what is your problem with the way it was implemented on ps4? what outfit for Shai offends you? Do legs offend you?
