Discord
How often do you use Discord for BDO? Any plans on a guild making a discord server for their guild to communicate on? Is their a personal preference besides discord for communicating with a guild out of game anyone like to share. Just wondering.
Personal Preference
I personally prefer discord due to having channels and slightly use to having other little things to do within the app while on the server itself. Although I've seen one or two guild posts mentioning the communities within Xbox and might be interested in that.
Forum
I'm really glad to find a forum for the game on Xbox!
Yeah currently me and my buddies are working hard on our guild server. We wanted to post a guild recruitment message when it is ready. We have all class categories and I plan on posting any advice and or helpful meta links in chat. Personally, we are a hardcore PvP community, looking for hardcore PvP players but if you take a look at my Twitch we have a very very fun time in my streams. In my opinion, Discord is NEEDED for GvG (Guild v Guild) Node Wars, and any sort of game mode requiring more than 20 people. As that is the current limit of Xbox Live parties.
But yeah, this forum dedicated to Xbox is great to help find Xbox issues. Bugs, feedback, suggestions, streamers, general chat, is all Xbox players which is awesome.

I'm guessing there will be guild chat so we won't be using xbox parties, if they don't would be a horrible mistake

I mean yeah i'd hope so, but party chat is still needed and easier and more convenient for people used to playing on Xbox and either don't wanna go on Discord at the time or don't have it in general. Makes it a lot easier than logging into discord, and you cant truly understand a person over text a lot of the time. Much better over voice. Especially if it's serious.
I have no interest in using text to communicate, one of the reasons I dislike gaming on pc, lol, but I do understand the need for text chat for guild leaders to be able to send mass communication. I have Discord, have used it in the past(Destiny) but strongly dislike it just because it adds another layer. With the voice chat, you can't have more than 20 people in a group, it's too loud even at 20. ESO allows 24 in a group/chat in pvp and that's borderline too many, it's hard to hear the leader and people keep saying unnecessary ****. I'm not sure what the guild chat limit is but I've seen over 30 people in one chat, which is just insane.
I understand that BDO guild setup is much different than ESO so it's hard to compare but hopefully they at least look at what ESO is doing with the chat. I don't think there's any other game currently on Xbox that uses guild chat so it's hard to know what options there are.

Yeah man I really want them to add mass message to the whole Xbox club for our guild lol and I agree on an extra layer, maybe if they added app support on Xbox.

Lol. Area voice in ESO everyones deep throating the mics SCREAMING. 30 people sounds like a crowd in the city except you have one person doing the Uganda Knuckles *Cluck* other people laughing and others trying to be serious or talk lmao.

For me it's not a huge issue but for someone trying to manage a guild it will be extremely frustrating if PA doesn't have proper comms available. I do feel ESO does a fairly good job with it, tho I don't really have another benchmark on xbox.
Yeah I'm not sure how neverwinter handles guild chat, I love how ESO does it though aslo

You are able to change the colors to whatever you want for guild chat. If you are 5 or higher you get access to guild officer chat. You can also send pm's to people, Say stuff in Zone in that whole map for every one to see, Trade which you can trade for that whole map to see, Say chat which is local to only a certain range of people around you, things like that. All can be changed to your liking of color.

It's been my experience in most every game, and this is just my personal experience, that the in game chat always sucks worse than Xbox Party Chat so the latter is always used by general vote. I am not sure why this is, but it's been consistent.
The examples most recent come from ESO and Destiny1/2. The guilds I have been a part in in ESO Xbox have about a 75% rate of hating the in game chat due to stability issues and never used it. Some do, though.
Personally, I usually have good luck with either; It's usually "that one guy" in the party.
I find Discord to be the far superior app for offline communication.
