Adventurers,
The mysterious lands of O’dyllita will soon be opened. The stains on the Black Desert world that have their roots dug within the soils of the region are numerous. From Belmorn to Kzarka, the hidden effects of O’dyllita have torn the pages of history a part.
O’dyllita, a land of darkness and ancient secrets
The Ahib—banished from Kamasylvia for burning Kamasylve, the Sacred Tree of Goddess Sylvia—followed Viorencia Odore, who was once the only princess of the Vedir, into a barren and infertile land where they discovered the ruins of an ancient kingdom.
There they found a massive Thornwood in the capital of the ancient kingdom of Orzeca and grafted their precious Kamasylve branches onto this tree to birth a new sacred tree, Turasil.
Having regained their mother’s glory, they now face a coming darkness steeped in the digressions of the past.
Beginning the Main Story Quest
The main story quest can be picked up at level 60, and also requires you to have completed the ‘[Lv.58 Kamasylvia] The Light of Kamasylve’ quest line. If you have already met these requirements, then you’re ready to being a new quest into the darkness of O’dyllita by accepting the ‘[Lv.60 O’dyllita] Flower of the Burning Moon’.
You have surely heard about the dangers of O’dyllita, but fear not. The Main Story of the region will require you to defeat monsters that are around the level of the Manshaum Forest monsters of Kamasylvia. So even if you are not the strongest adventurer, you can still experience and explore the stories of O’dyllita.
If you are looking for the knowledge of the region, but have yet to complete the requirements above, fear not. There are side quests available from the Thornwood Castle Node Manager, Aliluna, and Shiv Valley Road Node Manager, Honti, will have a series of side quests that will allow you to get some of the information regarding the NPC’s of the region. However, not all of it will be available, as O’dyllita is incredibly reclusive, and even those on the outskirts of the kingdom do not know all that goes on within.
Key Locations of O’Dyllita
O’draxxia - Capital City of O’dyllita
The captial city of O’dyllita, O’draxxia is the military, academic and economic center of the region. The centralization of the residents here comes as no surprise. This is where Turasil took root. By grafting a branch from Kamasylve, to the Quturan of the Orzeca, the Ahib managed to create their own sacred tree, one filled with a much darker energy than the radiant light of Kamasylve.
Olun’s Valley
The Olun’s were the smallest and weakest of the tribes during the golden age or Orzeca, and were banished to the infertile lands of the valley that became known as Olun’s Valley. While few things can grow here, the Olun tribe persisted despite the persecution from the Orzeca. Numbers in the region dwindled, until one day the Oluns had all but disappeared, replaced by Golems of immeasurable strength. Right now, even the Ahib with all their strength, dare not wander into these lands despite their fascination with the region.
This zone is incredibly tough, and the three-man party is more of a necessity than a recommendation. Utmost caution is advised to those willing to delve the depths of the valley in the name of adventure. Stay on your toes, work together and proceed cautiously. Not doing so will lead to an untimely end at the hands of the Golems.
Tunkuta
This region is also known as Turo’s, due to the primitive civilization that occupies the valley. Their bull like appearance and immense strength is almost as intimidating as the stench they produce. While generally a peaceful race, they have no qualms with picking up their weapons to defend their lands if they feel threatened. They are intelligent enough to hold their civilization together, but are still barbaric in comparison to the O’dyllita’s most recent inhabitants the Ahib.
This two-man zone is incredibly important for Adventurers. Not only is it the sole location of the Turo’s Belt, but also drops the incredibly rare ‘Flame of Despair,’ an item needed to craft the fabled ‘Fallen God’s Armor.’ Fret not, Ember’s of Despair also drop here, which can be used to create a Flame of Despair.
Thornwood Forest
Is this the curse of the Ancient Kingdom of Orzeca or a salvation?
As the sinister power of the curse ingrained in O’dyllita’s soil takes root in Turasil,
the Fallen Ones thirsting with insatiable greed are unleashed upon this land.
Thornwood Forest is known as the Cursed Forest or the Forest of Salvation depending on which Ahib you talk to. Those who worship the cursed soils of O’Dyllita, or dip deep into the burning of Turasil, may find themselves here. While the rest of O’dyllita is considered incredibly difficult party zones, Thornwood Forest is an approachable location for many adventurers who have already explored the depths of Hystria and Aakman. And while you’re there, you may just discover the Ominous Ring, a new ring that drops at Thornwood Forest.
Crypt of Resting Thoughts
Perhaps the most mysterious of locales in O’dyllita is the Crypt of Resting thoughts. Not much is known about the deep labrinth here, but it is said that scholars study the extremities of the darkness within O’dyllita, and that Queen Viorencia locks away those Ahib who have burned too much of Turasil and lost themselves. What we do know is that any Adventurer that finds their way into the Crypt, and can survive there, will find vast riches including the Deboreka Belt. But Adventurers, heed this warning, the Crypt of Resting thoughts is closed off to the outside world for good reason, because it is rumored that beings of horrific power reside within.
Lifeskilling in O’dyllita
But it’s not all combat and death in O’dyllita. While very little actually grows in these arid lands, there is still some life that the residents of the region manage to survive off. A key staple of the O’dyllita diet is Delotia, a special pink rose that is used in all manner of dishes. Delotia Juice, and Delotia Milk Tea are also popular drinks within the region.
But perhaps the most curious thing about O’dyllita is the alchemy. The cursed lands of O’dyllita have given rise to certain alchemical properties that alchemists have been searching for. Not only are there new elixirs, perfumes and draughts, but the power of immortality seems one step closer. Certain draughts, perfumes and elixir’s can now be made immortal, meaning their effects will persist even after death. These Immortal variants are heavily sought after by adventurers everywhere, and so they may be a particularly interesting avenue for alchemists everywhere.
There is a lot to explore within O’dyllita, and above is just a taste of what to expect. Discover more for yourself, and journey into the depths of darkness March 30th.
