Family Integration of Gathering & Fishing Tools
Base Tools for Gathering & Fishing
Now the world of Life Skill Gathering activities in Black Desert became more ripe for the picking as adventurers can jump right in without any preparation.
Say you stumble upon untapped natural resources along the road, or are filled with a sudden urge to reel up some undiscovered species of fish... Well fret no more! Now you can partake in Gathering & Fishing activities whenever you please!
We hope this simplification of Gathering & Fishing will encourage many more adventurers to freely explore uncharted chapters in their own Black Desert adventures.

Family Tool Window for Gathering & Fishing
We've added a new "Family Tool Window for Gathering & Fishing" feature, allowing all characters within a Family to share Gathering and Fishing tools. With the integration of Life Skill levels across the Family and the shift to Family-shared equipment for Gathering and Fishing, you can now enjoy these activities with any character you choose. Additionally, even without specialized tools, you can still gather and fish with base tools. So if the durability of your equipped Gathering tools or fishing rods is completely consumed, you can still continue Gathering and Fishing as if equipped with base tools.
- Added the "Family Tool Window for Gathering & Fishing," which allows you to share Gathering and Fishing tools with your entire Family.
- When you equip a Life Skill tool in this window, the tool's effects will apply to your entire Family.
▲ You can find the Family Tool window for Gathering & Fishing via the Equipment window.
- You can equip the following tools via the Family Tool window for Gathering & Fishing.
Equippable Tools via the Family Tool Window |
Lumbering Axe
Fluid Collector Hoe Butchering Knife Tanning Knife Pickaxe Fishing Rod Float Harpoon |
[Equipping in this window will grant access for all characters within your Family.]
How to Use Gathering & Fishing Tools
- Changed Gathering & Fishing so you need only equip tools via the Family Tool window once to use them whenever you wish.
- Change to the Fishing or Harpooning stance via Menu - Life - Life Tool Ring Menu.
(Can be set in the Ring Menu for convenient use.)
- Change to the Fishing or Harpooning stance via Menu - Life - Life Tool Ring Menu.
- The equipped gathering tool will be automatically used when you interact with gatherables.
TIP!
※ With "Family Tool window for Gathering & Fishing" and "Gathering & Fishing Base Tools" updates being applied simultaneously, you will immediately switch to the base tool effects if the durability of any equipped life tools are completely consumed
- This does not apply for fishing floats and harpoons that either aren't equipped or have 0 durability.

Season Characters & Life Mastery Gear
Many adventurers expressed the desire to equip Life Mastery gear on their Season Characters. In response to this feedback, we've made improvements to Gathering and Fishing tools. Now, you can enjoy Gathering and Fishing with tools that increase Life Skill Mastery, regardless of whether you're using a season or normal character.
- Changed so season characters can also equip gear with Life Skill Mastery with the addition of the "Family Tools window for Gathering & Fishing" update.
※ With the "Family Tools Window for Gathering & Fishing" update, all characters within your Family now share Gathering and Fishing tools. This rendered "Liana's Tool Bag" obsolete and thus the bag has been removed.
- Quests related to Liana's Tool Bag will no longer be acceptable after the June 26 (Wed) update,
and any tools stored in Liana's Tool Bag will be unequipped and sent to your storage in Heidel.
- Gathering and Fishing tools can no longer be copied for tagged characters since they are now shareable with your entire Family. Any copied tools have been removed.
※ Fishing rods, floats, and harpoons will no longer take up Pearl outfit and weapon slots due to now being equippable in the "Family Tools window for Gathering & Fishing."

- Changed the following quests to no longer be acceptable (and any accepted canceled) due to the removal of Liana's Tool Bag:
- [Tool Bag] Liana's Invention, [Tool Bag] Liana's Trivia Part 1 & 2
- Added the "Liana's Trivia Challenge" quest, which now grants the "Bearer of Obscure Knowledge" title, since you can no longer accept the "[Tool Bag] Liana's Trivia Part 2" quest.
ALL CLASSES
CLASS CHANGES
The effects of Black Spirit's Rage Absorption have been revamped. Previously, adventurers used Rage Absorption (Common) and Rage Absorption (Innate) skills differently for each class. However, now, except for the Shai class, which uses the Black Spirit's Rage 100% absorption to affect other adventurers, all other classes will no longer have access to their unique Rage Absorption (Innate) skills. Instead, the Critical Hit Rate increase effect has been standardized and included in the Rage Absorption (Common) skill for universal use.
When absorbing Black Spirit's Rage at 200%, adventurers used to gain a significant increase in Attack and Casting Speed. Given that overall attack speeds have increased across characters, excessively high attack/casting speed buffs could widen the gap between faster and slower classes. To address this, the additional effects obtained from this absorption have been adjusted.
Additionally, the introduction of set effects to Tungrad accessories have made the Black Spirit's Rage 200% absorption accessible to more classes. We are also preparing updates for the 200% Black Spirit's Rage skills for 18 classes, which will be introduced in future Black Desert Global Lab updates.
Please note that the adjustments to Black Spirit's Rage Absorption effects are part of the ongoing character/system balance considerations.

Guild positions and authorities have been separated.
Previously, guilds had a structure where authorities were assigned based on guild positions. This meant that, in some cases, you had to assign a rank just to grant certain functions, like Guild Missions or demolishing Node War annex buildings.
Now, authorities can be set independently of positions, making it more convenient and flexible to use.
Guild positions will still help distinguish each guild member's role and responsibilities, with an improved appointment system. Meanwhile, authorities can now be delegated individually or activated by group, enhancing overall functionality.
