A new update is making its way to Black Desert, bringing the worlds of Xbox One and PlayStation 4 together. This update will bring the Kamasylvia Renewal quests, along with new world bosses, Archer for Playstation 4 and more! Check out the full details below.

For this patch note, there will be PlayStation specific items that have already been added to Xbox. In case of this, we will use blue text to denote the additional content for Playstation. 

Cross-play is here, and now Xbox and Playstation 4 players will be able to team up and explore the world of Black Desert together. Cross-Play is one of the biggest changes to Black Desert so far, and we’re excited to see the changes it will bring.

Chat
Players will be able to communicate with each other regardless of Platform as long as they are in the same server group.

Guilds
Guilds can recruit players from either platform. Unfortunately at this point in time, we are unable to provide voice support through in-game means for Playstation players. However text chat will be combined for guilds so that users will be able to message each other.

Central Market
As mentioned in a previous notice, the Central Market will be combined between both platforms. For this, we will be taking the higher of the two markets and making that the initial price point of the combined Central Market.

The following actions will take place automatically during the maintenance.

▶Any withstanding pre-orders will be canceled and the silver will be sent to your in-game mail.
▶Sales which have been completed but the silver was not collected will be processed. The silver will be added to your in-game mail with the Value Pack tax rate applied.
▶Items which were successfully purchased but not collected will be moved to your Central Market Wallet.
▶Items that were listed but not sold will be returned to your central market wallet.

Name Changes
As mentioned in a previous notice, name changes will occur to make sure that players have unique identities in-game. The process for this can be found here: [Link to Name Change Doc]

Node War/Conquest War
Node Wars and Conquest Wars will be suspended from March 4th~March 7th. The first Node Wars for the Cross-Play system will be on March 8th.

Servers
The servers for cross-play will be as follows:

Altar of Blood and Post Party Recruitment
Unfortunately we will need to disable Altar of Blood and Post Party Recruitment for an unspecified period of time. We will be taking this time to take a look at Altar of Blood and consider applying some minor changes to the game mode.  

The Watcher of the Roots takes his place amongst the classes of Black Desert. The Archer is now available for all players to play, and you can enjoy the fast paced action of the Archer today! Find out more about this mysterious elf in our GM Notes found here: [Link]

Archer will come as a complete package, meaning his Ascension, Rabam and Absolute skills will all be available from his release. 

Queen Brolina has decreed that the period of isolationism is to end for the region of Kamasylvia. Adventurers will now be able to explore the lush and beautiful forests of Kamasylvia located Southwest of Trent. Find out more about Kamasylvia and it’s deep history in our GM Notes found here: [Link]

The storyline from Kamasylvia has been renewed, meaning that there are all new quests for players to explore. Adventurers who have already completed all the main quests through Kamasylvia will be able to relive the new story with their existing characters.

Kamasylvia will be added for PlayStation users. Kamasylvia will bring new items, new magic crystals and more for you to obtain. Additional Information about these items can be found at the bottom of this notice.

Offin Tett makes his way to Black Desert. The fearsome ancient weapon has awoken, and is ready to defend his ancient lands. The Mirumok Destroyer Offin is piloted by the Watcher Offin Tett, and defeating him will give you a chance at obtaining Offin Tett’s weapon! Find out more about Offin Tett in the GM Notes: Link

Offin Tett is available as both a Guild Mission and a World boss. Both have the chance to drop the Offin Tett weapon. 

Due to the upcoming Summer Time changes for North America, North American server times will be adjusted by 1 hour. This means until the clocks spring forward, all timed events will be 1 hour earlier than usual (eg: World Boss Times). Europe will be adjusted in a future update.

The Olvia server has been added to the server select list. This server is available to new and returning users only, and gives a 100% Combat EXP and 30% Skill EXP boost for those adventurers. This server will be available for the first 30 days after a user joins/returns to the game, and will allow users to reach level 59.99. Once your time in the Olvia server is complete, you will be unable to rejoin. Users who have access to the Olvia server can still join other servers if they wish.

Take to the skies as the Air Balloon between Calpheon and Grána is now open. The Balloon Transport costs 1 Black Stone (either Armor or Weapon) to purchase a ticket, which you can then give to Dwarf, who is in charge of the balloon. Up to 2 adventurers can jump in the balloon at a time, and once it arrives at its destination you will automatically disembark.

Adventurers who disconnect during the ride will find themselves plummeting to the ground upon re-entry. Although crystals will not be destroyed, we strongly recommend staying seated throughout.

Note: You can not board the Balloon while carrying trade items. 

Since their introduction to Black Desert, we have noticed that there is a significant performance drop when entering or exiting cities through entrances located next to the dummies. This drop is heavily connected to the concentration of players in one spot in populous areas. To help reduce these performance issues in towns and cities, we will be reducing the number of training dummies available in each town by around 50%. 

Fairies will be receiving some attention this update. The probability of obtaining a Brilliant Fairy has been increased. In tandem with this change, we are also reducing the amount of EXP required to level up a Brilliant fairy by around 15%. These changes will allow players to level up and obtain higher level fairies with more ease.

Adventurers who already have a Brilliant Fairy Laila may see their EXP exceeding 100%. You will then be able to go to the next level using the Growth mechanic through the use of Honey Wine or green grade equipment.

Cliff’s weapons have also been added. Cliff’s Weapons are available for new and returning users after reaching level 50. For more information, please refer to the Crossplay Event Notice.

The amount of Cron Stones that can be obtained through Outfit Extraction has also been increased. This also means that the maximum upper prices of Pearl Outfits on the Central Market has also increased.

● You can now repeatedly enhance with the following Magical Black Stones
- Stabilized Magical Black Stone
- Cleansed Magical Black Stone
- Pure Magical Black Stone

The first of the character changes comes as a very minor visual upgrade for the default faces of Ninja and Kunoichi. There will be no changes made to your current Ninjas and Kunoichis, but if you feel like using these new defaults, we are sending an appearance change coupon to all adventurers.

The character actions at the end of Emergency Escape has been unified, so that all classes have the same penalty to using the function.

Valkyrie
● Fixed an issue where the character would move abnormally in certain situations after using Shield Chase.

Wizard
● Improved the movement of Wizards after using the Hellfire skill

● You can now change your skill points freely up to level 56. After that, you will need to use a Secret Book of Old Moon or the Armstrong’s Skill Guide.
● The cost of recovering all mounts’ HP (Repair) and Stamina (Power) was changed from 15 Silver to 500 silver per 1%

As PlayStation 4 will be receiving Kamasylvia in this update, we wanted to give a quick rundown on what Kamasylvia entails.

The most powerful magic crystals ever discovered have been added. JIN, WON and BON crystals offer 3 bonus effects depending on the type of crystal made. To create these stones, you will need to combine 10 Magical Shards, Forest Fury and a Black Magic Crystal through Simple Alchemy.

How to Obtain

First, you will need to use heating (Processing menu) on a Yellow grade Black Magic Crystal to obtain a Magical Shard. This will consume the yellow crystal. You will need 10 of these shards as part of the recipe.

Second, you will need to obtain Forest Fury, which can be obtained from killing monsters in the Kamasylvia region. 

Finally, you will need one of Black Magic Crystals- Harphia, Cobelinus, Viper, Hystria, Carmae, Addis. Once you have all the materials, you can use the simple alchemy (found in the processing window). This will randomly create one of the JIN/WON/BON variants of that crystal.
