As many of you have experienced, there are periodic server instabilities that are affecting Black Desert NA. The issue was identified and we performed a partial server maintenance in order to lessen the impact of the issues. We would like to explain why these issues are happening, and what we did during the partial maintenance. 

The current issues are caused due to communication delays between our servers and other external traffic. With Internet usage drastically increasing worldwide, the processing of our server requests are being delayed by external services, especially in North America. Due to this delay, along with regional network issues, users experience lag when various communication requests are piled up.

Yesterday's partial server maintenance lessened the amount of communication made to external servers in an attempt to alleviate the issues. Despite our efforts, it did not achieve the desired effect and we are still trying our best to mitigate the issues as soon as possible. 

We are incredibly sorry for the issues that have been plaguing the servers the last few weeks. We are working to provide a solution, as well as maximizing our efforts to increase optimization to deliver the best user experience.
