Come join our third session on the World Bosses! Today’s topic: Karanda, Scourge of the Skies. Adventurers of new and old, remember to take a look at GM notes for help!

“Karanda” is a name given to the strongest female harpy in the group who is responsible for nesting eggs. Karanda first appeared in the Black Desert world back in July 24, 2019 on XBOX and November 4, 2019 on PS4.

Harpies are extremely territorial yet collective creatures who have formed a habitat along the “Karanda Ridge”.

Harpies organize their hierarchy by singling out the strongest alpha female in their group; she is dubbed “Karanda”.

Karanda is an important part of the harpy matriarchy because she is also the only individual who is deemed worthy enough to bear eggs. Scholars speculate that Karanda’s monopoly on bearing eggs may explain why the new-born harpies pledge unfaltering loyalty to Karanda.

They say it is common practice for the newly elected Karanda to celebrate her reign and boast the strength of her pack by initiating a blood fest against nearby creatures.

“Adventurer, always beware of a newly crowned Karanda...”

“For her inauguration foreshadows nothing but carnage...”

An image to that answers both questions!

Scourge of the skies inhabit the Karanda Ridge near Calpheon, conveniently named after their  presence there. The exact location of her appearance is on the mountain ridges, south-east of Florin.

Adventurers who seek Karanda only need to follow the ridge, all the way up to the peak.

Now for the most important information of all: what can I get from a world boss?

Remember that you have a higher chance at better rewards the more you contribute to Karanda’s defeat (which means hitting the harpy where it hurts!), so take heart and fight courageously!

■ Dandelion Weapon Box

Dandelion Weapon Box contains an awakening weapon imbued with the power of Karanda. Just imagine the power you’ll be able to wield once you come to acquire the essence of her power!

■ Karanda’s Latent Aura

Fragments of Karanda’s Power which you can bring to Kreutz in Old Dandelion after collecting 100 of them to exchange them for a Dandelion Weapon Box.

■ Belongings of an Adventurer

A precious bag left behind by an adventurer who perished while fighting Karanda...

If you defeat Karanda, you have a chance to obtain the Belongings of an Adventurer. Opening the Belongings of an Adventurer will grant you one of the following accessories (up to TET (IV) enhancement level).

- Ogre Ring

- Laytenn's Power Stone

- Eye of the Ruins Ring

- Orkinrad's Belt

- Valtarra Eclipsed Belt

- Narc Ear Accessory

- Basilisk's Belt

- Ring of Crescent Guardian

■ Black Magic Crystal - Vigor

The Black Magic Crystal – Vigor can be fused into Armor sockets, which then grants Max HP +50 and Stun/Stiffness/Freezing Resistance +10%.

■ Black Magic Crystal - Ascension

The Black Magic Crystal – Vigor can be fused into Shoe sockets, which then grants Jump +35 and Knockback/Floating Resistance +10%.

■ Black Magic Crystal - Descent

The Black Magic Crystal – Descent can be fused into Shoe sockets, which then grants Fall Damage –15% and Knockback/Floating Resistance +10%.

■ Black Stone (Weapon), Black Stone (Armor)

Black Stones are vital items for adventuring in the Black Desert world, allowing you to enhance your weapons and armor!

 Adventurers who are playing on the season servers with Tuvala gear may not quite need them at the moment. But there will come a day when you outgrow your Tuvala gear at the end of the season so it’s a good idea to stock up on this must-have item.

■ Special Title!

“KaaaraAaannng!”

‘We started with a ‘We’, but ‘I’ finished off Karanda! KaaaraAaannng!’

Karanda also has a special title given to those who deliver the last final blow on Karanda!
