The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in the United Kingdom has announced the new Children’s Code (Age Appropriate Design Code) which precludes minors under the age of 18 from registering membership in the Black Desert Console website.

※ Regarding the effects of this change on gameplay, please refer to Microsoft legal policies if you’re an Adventurer using XBOX. Adventurers using PlayStation should refer to the Sony legal policies.

It is now a requirement in the U.K. for Adventurers under the age of 18 to receive approval of the parental or legal guardian when using our official website. This new policy includes Adventurers who have registered their account with us before these changes. If you’re a minor under the age of 18, a request email has been sent to the email address registered in your account, to help you with the verification procedures.

Please keep in mind that Adventurers who do not have the approval of their parental or legal guardian are scheduled to have their data deleted and will no longer be able to access the benefits of account linking or coupons redeems in the official website.

■ Details

- Date of Application: New changes will take effect starting from September 1^st (Wed.) 10:00 (UTC)

- Changes in Policy:

1) New membership will no longer be issued to Adventurers under the age of 18 in the EU server of Black Desert Console.

2) Previous memberships issued to Adventurers under the age of 18 require the approval of their parental or legal guardian to continue their membership.

- Required for minors residing in U.K., British Indian Ocean Territory, and British Virgin Islands

- Need explicit approval from the parental or legal guardian of the minor.

- An email has been sent to the email address registered in your official website account. The forms you submit will be sent back to the official email address.

Adventurers under the age of 18 must receive parental or legal guardian approval to continue their use of the Black Desert Console official website and its affiliated services. Without parental or legal guardian approval, accounts registered under minors will be subject to deletion.
