Adventurers,

This update brings the new mini-game Yar!, character changes and a restructuring of item drops in certain monster zones. Read on to find out more.  


Yar!

"Yar!" was added. Yar! is a new type of minigame that you can play with others with cards that have images of NPCs you can meet throughout the world of Black Desert. It is a simple game that was inspired by the classic games of poker and yacht.

It's easy to understand the rules after playing it a couple of times. The basics revolve around drawing cards a set number of times each turn in order to assemble the best hand of 5 cards to score the maximum number of points possible. You go back and forth with your opponent, committing hands to accumulate points each turn. Strategic planning and a bit of luck are both important factors in winning a game against another Adventurer in Yar!, so embrace the tides of fortune while trying to outwit your opponent.

We hope you'll enjoy playing Yar! with other Adventurers traveling across distant lands, as well as playing against NPCs in the Black Desert world. 

 

● A new game is gaining popularity among the villagers of the Black Desert world. The game, "Yar!", was introduced to the villagers by a Shai girl named Yar who suddenly appeared in Velia one day.
- The "Yar!" deck consists of cards with symbols of a sun, moon, star, and flower as well as numbers 1(A) to 6. 

- The mini-game can be started from the start>Community> Yar!
- Select the game mode which will determine the types of hands in play, and enter the Family Name of your opponent to send an invite.  

- When your opponent accepts your invite, the ‘Yar!’ minigame begins. 


Yar in a Nutshell

Yar is a minigame where you draw cards and score points based on the matching hands!

1. Select ‘Draw!’ on your turn to draw cards up to a set number of times.
- Here, you can select the cards you wish to keep, then re-draw the rest.

2. The points each hand will earn are listed on the left side of the Yar! Window.

3. Take turns with your opponent until you have committed points to all the hands.
The adventurer with the most points wins.  

- The possible hands you can score points for are listed below. When you play the game, you can score each hand only once.

Content Changes

● The end date of the Winter Season has been changed.
- The winter season will now end on March 30th.  

● Changed Tagged Characters to now be able to use Imperial Delivery (packaged Cooking/Medicine Box delivery).
- You can hand in packaged Cooking/Medicine Boxes to an [Imperial Delivery] NPC located in each city.
 

We originally blocked Tagged characters from accessing Imperial Delivery content in order to prevent the Character Tag system from using the content to in any way other than it was originally intended. However, we found that it was causing Adventurers enjoying the Item Copy and Character Tag systems a major inconvenience. So, we decided to enable Tagged characters to access Imperial Delivery. We will continue to improve the gameplay experience of all our Adventurers. 



Character Changes 

● Added three new skills that can only be used during Node/Conquest Wars.

- So, including the pre-existing skills that can only be used in Node/Conquest Wars (Yianaros’ Light/Pilgrim’s Steps/ Knight’s Defense), you will be able to learn one of six skills.
- Once you learn one of these skills, you will not be able to learn the other 5 skills.
- These skills can be learned by using the items [Secret Book] Guild Tactics I to V. The books can be obtained by exchanging Resplendent Medal of Honor, which are rewards for Node/Conquest Wars.

Warrior

● Absolute: Spinning Slash – Fixed the issue where damage was not applied when the skill was continued but Attack 2 activated Black Spirit: Spinning Slash
● Core: Solar Flare – Fixed the issue where the distance travelled decreased when the skill was learned. 


Ranger
● Spirit's Shackles - Fixed the issue where the skill failed to activate during backwards movement with a kamasylven sword. 


Sorceress
● Prime: Abyssal Flame – Fixed the issue where Fragment of Darkness were not recovered when comboing into other skills quickly while the skill was on cooldown.
● Soul Harvest, Wings of the Crow - Improved the camera effects applied during these skills. 


Berserker
● Prime: Unstoppable Beast – Fixed the issue where you couldn’t lock the skill.
● Succession: Weakling Hunt – Fixed the issue where using the skill during Beast Form would display the cooldown for Absolute: Weakling Hunt.
● Succession: Weakling Hunt – Fixed the issue where the description regarding the All DP increase effect was incorrect.
● Lava Piercer (I~II) - Fixed the issue where you could use the skill via the Ring Menu while casting it during Beast Form to activate Flow: Beastly Maneuver.
● Prime: Lava Piercer - Fixed the issue where the skill's non-Prime version wouldn't deal damage when activated with feral movement while the skill wasn't learned. 


Musa
● Below the Belt, Crust Crusher - Fixed the issue where Core: Spinner's damage and defense effects wouldn't be applied when comboed into after these skills. 


Ninja
● Sura Katana Training - Fixed the issue where the description displayed the Attack Speed increase effect. 


Kunoichi
● Prime: Ninjutsu Commence - Fixed the description regarding Succession: Ghost Step to match the actual effect. 


Witch, Wizard

● Prime: Earth's Response: Flow, Prime: Earth's Response: Destruction - Added a Magic DP -15 for 10 sec effect on hits.
● Prime: Voltaic Pulse - Changed the Critical Hit Rate buff for PvE only.
- Critical Hit Rate +50% (PvE only) → +100% (PvE only)
● Prime: Equilibrium Break - Changed the damage amount.
- Attack damage 1263% x 9 → 1390% x 9

● Prime: Earthquake: Destruction - Changed attack 2 to be activated upon using Magical Evasion after performing attack 1.
● Prime: Multiple Magic Arrows - Fixed the issue where the skill add-on effects would not be applied even on hits when used in the max range.



Mystic

● Gushing Waters - Improved to combo more smoothly into Hurricane Sweep.
● Flash Step - Improved to now activate the non-Martial Spirit Shard version of the skill once the skill's cooldown ends for a Martial Spirit Shard-used version of the skill.
● Wolf's Frenzy - Fixed the issue where the Invincible effect for the beginning part of the skill wasn't applied when used during Awakening.
● Thunder Pound (II to Absolute) - Fixed the issue where pressing the LS↓ while targeting enemies with the skill wouldn't apply the Forward Guard effect.
● Flow: Mass Destruction - Fixed the issue where you couldn't combo into the skill after Gushing Waters.
● Prime: Sea Burial - Fixed the issue where you couldn't combo into the skill during Flow: Mass Destruction.
● Flow: Mass Destruction - Fixed the issue where you could continue the skill by holding the Y/△ key when in Succession. 


Striker
● Fixed an issue where Flash Step could not be used continuously in succession when using Flash Step III
● Fallout - Fixed the issue where you couldn't activate the skill when used via the Ring Menu. 


Lahn

● Flailing Blades - Fixed the issue where the skill's 2nd attack would activate upon reusing the skill after comboing from certain skills during cooldown.
● Fixed an issue where Succession: Heavenly Waltz would appear in Korean. 


Shai
● Fixed the issue where the buff applied to the Shai would only last for 30 seconds if your character moved while using the following skills.
- "Shout to the Sky", "Sun, Moon, Stars", "Summer Rain", "Time to Shine!" 


Guardian

● Black Spirit: Infernal Nemesis - Fixed the issue where skill wouldn't hit if the target was located at a lower height than the caster.
● Prime: Avalanche Strike I - Fixed the issue where certain skills couldn't be activated during Guard after learning this skill.
● Savage Hack - Fixed the issue where the skill would combo from its 1st and not 2nd attack when used after a lateral Fierce Disdain. 


Hashashin

● Constriction - Fixed the issue where the skill's grapple area was larger than intended under certain circumstances. 


Item Changes

● Improved the Guild Managers in Kamasylvia and Drieghan to now exchange Resplendent Medal of Honor for items.

● Updated the loot tables in the Item Drop Information UI for the reworked Kamasylvia and Drieghan territories.
- You can find the Item Drop Information UI under the Adventure category in the start menu.

Many of our Adventurers were asking for the gear loot rework, so we condensed the gear dropped in these monster zones to now drop as boxes. This rework will help reduce the burden placed on our Adventurers' inventory slots. 
● Separated [Maehwa] Order of the Apricot Gloves from the [Maehwa] Order of the Apricot Armor.
- Added [Maehwa] Order of the Apricot Gloves to the outfit boxes that contain the [Maehwa] Order of the Apricot Armor.
* Adventurers who had the [Maehwa] Order of the Apricot Armor in their possession will find the [Maehwa] Order of the Apricot Gloves in their storage in Heidel. 


Monster Changes 

● The wolf population near Imp Cave has been restored.
 
 

Quest and Knowledge Changes 

● Changed the quest "A Foreigner's Tantrum" so you add more spices instead of sand as the quest objective.
● Changed the quest "[Kamasylvia] A Poacher's Suggestion" to have you obtain Friella's Mouse by examining boxes nearby instead of stealing it from her.
● Changed Igor Bartali's Adventure Log Volume 10 to state the correct objective of "Defeat the Skeleton Kings from the Cartian Spell 10 times."
● Changed the quest "Marni's Suspicious Device" to now appear in the Suggested quest tab.
- This is a Family quest for characters Lv. 56 or higher.
● Changed the quests "Journey into a Bigger World #1-4" to now state "(from gear only)" in the quest objectives.  
 
 

UI Changes 

● You can now check and enable/disable Agris fever even when all points have been consumed.
● Added information regarding the amount of time consumed when attempting to breed in the Stable's Breeding Market.
● Added a menu where you can check your current skill add-ons from the Skill window with a Lv. 50 or higher character.
- You can find the nearest Skill Instructor via a button at the bottom of the Skill Add-on UI in the Skill window.


We added a function so you can view your current skill add-ons directly from the Skill window without having to go visit a Skill Instructor. We also added the "Find Nearest Skill Instructor" button especially so that new Adventurers can use the skill add-on system with greater ease and comfort 



Other Changes 

● Fixed an issue where certain social actions with Nova could cause her sub-weapon to appear abnormally.
● Fixed an issue where the game could force close while moving items with the items tool tip open.
● Fixed an issue where the confirmation message would sometimes appear empty.
● Fixed an issue where when achieving level 7 with a newly created character, the Challenge/Daily Log in UI could appear in a combat zone.
● Fixed an issue where the environment could appear unnatural in Sycrakea.
● Fixed an issue where the environment of the Heidel Guild House would appear unnatural.
● Fixed an issue on [PlayStation] where even when the rules allowed it, tents were not visible in the Arena of Arsha.
● Typos which appear in various item descriptions has been fixed.
● Added to the description of the Guaranteed PEN gear, stating clearly that the items can not be equipped when Karma is below 0.
● Improved the item descriptions for GM's Blessing 1-3 to state unstackable buffs more clearly.
● Added text to Naru gear item descriptions regarding how to convert PEN (V) Naru gear into PRI (I) Tuvala gear.
● The confirmation window for the Black Stone (Weapon) and Black Stone (Armor) bundles has been removed.
● Added text to Inverted Energy's item description regarding Processing information.
● Fixed text issues that appear in the ‘Concentrated Boss’s Aura’ item in various languages.
● Improved the following items to now be storable in your Family Inventory.

● Fixed an issue where during node wars, Indomitable Flags could be installed in unintended locations.
● Fixed the issue where the item description was only displayed as an item description on the first space when using the Transport function on the World Map.
● Fixed an issue where the Lahn’s Awakening quest, ‘Crimson Glaives of Antiquity’, could not be progressed if Unbridled Despair IV was learned.
● Fixed an issue where other Adventurer’s weapons would appear abnormally in certain situations.
● Fixed an issue where the Marni’s Research Box did not display on the Item Drop menu.
