Adventurers,
Sailors tell tall tales. From stories of ghostly pirates in the Sea of Silence, to the monsters that dwell under the depths of Margoria. But no Sailor’s tale hushes a tavern in the dark of night quite like the tales of Khan, the Eye of the Ocean. Some say even mentioning this fearsome beast will bring misfortune on even the simplest of excursions. All that is known is those who have come face to face with the Eye of the Ocean never return the same.
New Guild Boss - Khan
Much like the current Guild Bosses, Khan can be summoned once per week, assuming that you obtain the relevant 5 summon pieces through Guild Quests. There can also be only one Khan summon per server at a time, meaning if another Guild has summoned their Khan, you must wait for them to complete the battle before you can summon yours.
When summoning Khan, you must head to Oquilla’s Eye, located due north of Lema Island. When summoned, Khan will start attacking from the center of the Atoll, delivering massive blows to those who stand on the shore. As Khan appears in the water, conventional weaponry is not enough, and you must use the newly created Monsterbane cannons and Monsterbane Cannonballs in order to defeat it.
Monsterbane Cannons?
Monsterbane Cannons are a new type of cannon exclusively for the fight with Khan. In order to obtain this cannon, you can exchange Old Moon Combat Seal x1 or Old Moon Life Seal x1 at any Guild Manager. These cannons can only be deployed near Oquilla’s Eye, and are essential for taking down the Guild Boss Khan. If you do not have the OId Moon seals required for the exchange, you can also purchase these cannons directly from a Guild Manager using Guild Funds. The Monsterbane Cannonballs can also be exchanged/purchased in the same manner.
Monsterbane Cannonballs deal more damage depending on how many stacks are built up (up to 3 stacks). To build a stack, you can use the Regular Fire mode, which is a normal shot with a shorter reload time. The more you fire in Regular Mode, the more stacks you build which can be used with the Overcharged Shot. This special shot has a longer reload time, but deals more damage depending on the amount of stacks gained.

Ranged shots allow you to hit Khan from further away at the expense of damage. You can also only build up to 2 stacks for the overcharged shot.

Melee shots have an incredibly short range, however deal more damage than ranged hits. You can also build up to 3 stacks with the melee shot, allowing you to deal even more damage.
You can also use stacks to activate Rapid Fire (activated by pressing X/B) with the cannon. In Rapid Fire mode, cannons will reload faster and fire faster than regular firing mode. While consuming stacks, Rapid fire will also rebuild your stacks back up, allowing you to combine rapid fire and overcharged shots to really put the hurt on Khan.

Fighting Khan
So what has Khan got in store for those brave enough to awaken the Eye of the Ocean? First off, Khan will attack anyone in the vaccinity of Oquilla’s eye. So if you’re gathering Coral or fishing in the atoll, you may want to consider moving if you see a guild setting up to unleash Khan.
Khan is rumored to be the bringer of sea storms, and as such he can control lightning to strike Adventurers who are severely wounding him. He also lashes out at the shore lines, attempting to disable the Monsterbane cannons and severely injure those using them.
When Khan gears up for his most powerful attack, a warning message will appear. This is your time to take cover, as the only way to avoid taking damage is to cower behind rocks.
Black Crystal Seaweed
During the fight, Khan will bring forth Black Crystal Seaweed, drawing any nearby Protties to his side. The Black Crystal Seaweed will continue to summon monsters until it is destroyed, and if needed, Khan can consume the Black Crystal Seaweed to restore its hit points if it is in trouble. Destroying the Black Crystal Seaweed will not only thin Khan’s herd, but also reward you with Black Crystal Cannons, which are cannonballs that can be loaded into a Monsterbane cannon that deal even more damage to Khan than the Monsterbane Cannonballs. Make sure to take these out whenever possible.
If there is a level difference of 10 or more, items cannot be obtained from monsters.
Khan killed me!
If you die to Khan, and you have knowledge of Oquilla’s Eye, make sure that you press ‘Resurrect at the closet Safe Zone.’ This will revive you on Oquilla’s Eye, allowing you to quickly run back to the fight. Selecting ‘Resurrect at the Closest Town’ will take you to Port Ratt, which unless you enjoy swimming across monster infested seas, may not be the wisest of choices.
We killed Khan!
Once Khan is defeated, swim to the center of the Atoll and collect your loot. Khan drops items to upgrade ships, as well as items known as the treasure of the Great Ocean, Khan’s Concentrated Magic. This item, with the proper alchemical set up, can be turned into a Khan’s Heart. Khan’s Heart is an item that slots into your alchemy stone inventory slot, and offers the following benefits:
