Mount
In Black Desert, there is no instant transportation. This means that there are no teleports that will take you from town to town.
In order to traverse the vast world of Black Desert, Adventurers should make use of the mounts that are available. Mounts, regardless of level, will allow you to explore the world of Black Desert far more efficiently.
With mounts such as horses, donkeys, wagons, ships and elephants, each type of mount has a particular role that it excels at. However, keep in mind that only one mount can be taken out at a time per character, so you will have to check in one of your mounts at a stable/dock in order to take another out.
There is a limit to the space that a stable may have, so make use of the variety of stables that are available.
Donkey
Donkeys are mounts that specialize in carrying cargo rather than moving fast. It can carry more weight (LT) than a horse and has good endurance so it’s useful when making a trade.
Stable keepers sell donkeys. A donkey can be received as a quest reward or bought at stable keeper’s shop.
Horse
Horses are essential to traversing the world of Black Desert. A horse with a high tier can move at high speeds, allowing you to move to different places quickly.
There are multiple tiers of horses, ranging from 1 to 8. Horses with higher tiers will generally have higher stats in speed, acceleration, turn, and braking. Tier 8 horses can turn into Dream Horses, but they must meet specific requirements.
Horses have a chance of learning skills by levelling up . At the moment, the highest level that a horse can reach is level 100.
Wagon
Wagons specialize in carrying large quantities of items. It boasts the most amount of inventory slots of ground mounts. Even if the wagon is overweight, the speed of the wagon does not decrease as drastically as other mounts.
Generally wagons have 4 generic horses that pull the wagon. However, you can connect your own horses to the wagon. This is beneficial in that as you travel by wagon, your attached horses will also gain EXP. The speed of wagons is slow and cannot reverse, but boast high Durability. When the Durability reaches 0, the speed also grinds to a snail’s pace.
You can create wagons through crafting or purchase them from the Central Market. You can also obtain a basic wagon via quests.
Ship
Ships will help you travel through the waters of Black Desert.
Ships are an absolute must as they enable you to travel between islands, find hot spots for fishing, bartering, and more!
There are multiple types of ships that can be built, whether they be small vessels such as rafts and fishing boats, or large vessels such as galleys. There are also guild vessels that can be created!
Larger vessels take more time and effort to create, but they provide safer passage through the seas.
Certain types of ships cannot be repaired and therefore of a lifespan. Those vessels must be discarded, but you can get back a little bit of Silver.
However, large vessels can be repaired. Each have their own value and specialization.
Camel
Camels are unique mounts that can be found in the Valencia region. In desert areas, mounts such as horses and wagons will slow down quite a bit and won’t be able to access their skills. Camels, however, can not only keep their regular speed in the desert, but also possesses a higher weight limit than horses.
Camels can level up to level 20 and have access to unique skills. If you have to cross through the desert, having a camel is a must.
You can obtain a camel by turning in Shiny Golden Seal - [Imperial Training] x5 or complete a quest that is available once you reach level 55 from Bochlo, the Stable Keeper in Sand Grain Baazar.
Miniature Elephant
Much like camels, miniature elephants are mounts that are available in the Valencian region. Elephants move slower than camels, but have more inventory slots and a higher weight limit than camels. Elephants are the preferred mount for desert trading.
The miniature elephant can level up to level 15 and acquire unique skills. You can obtain a miniature elephant by completing a special quest in the Valencian region.

Registering Mounts
To register a mount, you must speak to a Stable Keeper NPC.
You can find the nearest Stable Keeper through the Find NPC function (Main Menu > Function > Find NPC) or through the world map (on the world map, press down on the D-Pad, press LB/L1 or RB/R1 to scroll to the Stable, and press RB/R2).
If you have the registration/emblem item, you will be able to register the mount at the bottom left of the screen. You can check the mount’s stats and register a name!
Mount Information
You can check the stats and skills of your mount by selecting a mount. The mount information will display on the right side.
You can also check your mount information by tapping Y/△ by your mount to select Mount Info, which will give you detailed information about your mount.
Skills
Horses, elephants, and camels can learn and use skills. In addition to some basic skills, you have a chance to learn new skills as your mount levels up such as “Sprint”, “Drift”, “Fore Chop” and more!
Each time a particular skill is used, said skill’s skill experience will increase. If the mount did not master the skill, there is a chance that it may fail. When it fails, a mini-game will occur to make sure you do not fall off the mount.
When a skill fails to activate, more stamina is depleted than when it succeeds. However, the mount will gain more skill experience for that skill.
Skills can be changed using special items called “Mount Skill Change Coupons.”
Equipment
Mounts are not inherently adept at combat, so it would be wise to increase its stats using mount specific equipment.
Unlike equipment for Adventurers, mount equipment enables special function. For example, “stirrups”, which are exclusive to horses, will allow you to fight on horseback.
“Saddles” will allow horses to use movement skills. “Horseshoes” increase the movement speed of certain mounts.
Mount Inventory
Mounts have their own inventory. In most cases, mounts will be able to carry more weight than your own Characters, so make sure to use your mounts inventory effectively when gathering, fishing, trading, or defeating monsters!
