Tuvala Gear

On season servers, you can obtain special season gear called Tuvala gear!

▲ Tuvala gear at full PEN (V)

Tuvala gear is highly recommended as it not only is easy to obtain and enhance, but also because it has great stats and can be exchanged for TET (IV) boss gear! However, Tuvala gear can only be obtained by season characters and cannot be obtained if a season server is not in progress.

※ If a season is not currently in progress, Narchillan gear is highly recommended.

How to Obtain Tuvala Gear

Tuvala gear con only be obtained by season characters on the season server. Season characters can only be created when a season is in progress.

- [Learn more about season servers here]

1. Exchange through Naru Gear

As a season character, if you enhance a piece of Naru gear to PEN (V), a UI will pop up that will allow you to immediately exchange the PEN (V) Naru gear for a PRI (I) Tuvala gear!

The UI to exchange for Tuvala gear will appear once your Naru gear is enhanced to PEN (V), so it is highly recommended to make that exchange!

▲ Convert PEN (V) Naru gear into PRO (I) Tuvala gear! (excluding accessories)

Naru gear is needed to exchange for Tuvala gear, which can be obtained via the main questline.

Check out the Naru gear guide here ▶

※ How do i get PRI (I) Tuvala Awakening Weapon?

When you complete the awakening questline for a character on the season server, you will obtain a PRI (I) Tuvala Awakening Weapon for that character.

2. Exchange through Tuvala Ores

Talk to a Blacksmith NPC and exchange your Tuvala Ore for base Tuvala gear and accessories!

▲ Go to the Exchange option when interacting with the Blacksmith NPCs to see what you can exchange your items for!

You can obtain Tuvala Ore by defeating monsters in Valencia, Kamasylvia, Drieghan, or in O’dyllita on a season server. Blacksmith NPCs in major cities will allow you to exchange the Tuvala Ore that you have.

※ Unlike the Tuvala gear that you can obtain by exchanging your Naru gear, Tuvala gear that is obtained through Tuvala Ore will not be at PRI (I), but rather at the base level. Accessories also will be at the base level once you exchange for them.

※ Exchanged for the wrong Tuvala Gear

If you exchanged for the wrong Tuvala gear when exchanging Tuvala Ore, you can Heat the gear you got to turn it back into Tuvala Ore!

For accessories, you can heat it down even when it has been enhanced. However, weapons and armors cannot be heated once they have been enhanced.

Enhancing Tuvala Weapons/Armor

Tuvala weapons and armor pieces can be enhanced using Time-Filled Black Stones and Refined Magical Black Stones.

Time-Filled Black Stone (Enhancement)

Time-Filled Black Stones and Refined Magical Black Stones can be used to enhance your Tuvala gear. Time-Filled Black Stones can be found all over the world of Black Desert on season servers, though larger quantities can be obtained in Valencia, Kamasylvia, Drieghan, and O’dyllita.

Tuvala gear behaves in the same way as regular gear in that up to PRI (I), failed enhancements will only reduce durability. However, once your reach DUO (II), failed enhancements will reduce the level of the gear and reduce durability.

Tuvala gear is easier to enhance than regular gear, but more difficult than Naru gear. You can use Black Stones or Advice of Valks items to increase your enhancement chances.

If you attempt to enhance after failing an enhancement attempt (where the level of the weapon drops), your enhancement chance will be higher. You can check the enhancement chance on the Enhancement UI.

※ (Reference) Enhancement Chance Increases

The following are recommended enhancement chances (or stacks) that you should use when going for each level.

Attempting For Recommended Enhancement Chance Sucess Rate
DUO (II) 20 60.00%
TRI (III) 30 60.00%
TET (IV) 40 35.00%
PEN (V) 60 35.00%

Refined Magical Black Stones (Guaranteed Enhancement)

Using Refined Magical Black Stones will allow you to enhance your Tuvala gear with a 100% success rate! This only works when you enhance for PRI (I), DUO (II), and TRI (III).

You can obtain Refined Magical Black Stones by defeating monsters in Valencia, Kamasylvia, Drieghan, or in O’dyllita on a season server.

You will need more Refined Magical Black Stones to attempt your enhancement for higher levels. Once you enhance using Refined Magical Black Stones, your enhancement will succeed, however the maximum durability of the item will decrease by quite a bit.

While you can use these items to enhance for PRI (I), DUO (II), and TRI (III), it is recommended to use these stones when going for TRI (III).

Enhancing in this manner will not use your enhancement chances, even if you have a stack present.

※ Restoring Durability of Tuvala Weapons and Armors

If you use Refined Magical Black Stones to enhance, your Tuvala gear will see a sharp decrease in its maximum durability. In this case, you can use gear of the same name or Tuvala Ore to restore the maximum durability! Head to a Blacksmith NPC to restore the maximum durability of your Tuvala gear.

One gear of the same name or one Tuvala Ore will restore 10 of the maximum durability.

※ Recommended Order of Enhancing Tuvala Gear

There is not set order, but in general, weapons are prioritized before armors. However, if you are taking too much damage from certain spots, you may want to focus a bit on armor first.

- Succession Characters

Main weapon, sub-weapon, awakening weapon, then armor (go from higher defence to lower)

- Awakening Characters

Awakening weapon, sub-weapon, main weapon, then armor (go from higher defence to lower)

Enhancing Tuvala Accessories

Tuvala accessories can only be enhanced with accessories of the same name. For example, you need another Tuvala Ring to enhance a Tuvala Ring. Much like regular accessories, if you fail to enhance the accessory, the accessory will be destroyed.

▲ Enhancing accessories usually requires larger enhancement chances to avoid the destruction upon a failure!

Tuvala accessories can be obtained by exchanging Tuvala Ore with Blacksmith NPCs. Keep in mind that you can only use base accessories to enhance your Tuvala accessories. For example, a PRI (I) Tuvala Ring cannot be used to attempt a TET (IV) Tuvala Ring enhancement. You will need a base Tuvala Ring in order to attempt the TET (IV) enhancement.

Because accessories will be destroyed if you fail an enhancement, it is highly recommended to have higher enhancement chances before attempting an accessory enhancement.

* (Reference) Enhancement Chance Increases

The following are the recommended enhancement chances for enhancing Tuvala accessories.

Attempting for Enhancement Chance Success Rate
PRI (I) 10 84.00%
DUO (II) 20 77.00%
TRI (III) 30 72.00%
TET (IV) 35 59.50%
PEN (V) 40 50.40%

※ One ring, one earring!

Depending on the season, you can obtain a PEN (V) Tuvala Ring and a Pen (V) Tuvala Earring for reaching levels 59 and 60 respectively! Because of this, it is highly recommended that you make one PEN (V) Tuvala Ring and Earring on your own as you will get these two from challenges!

Season Tuvala Gear > Regular Tuvala Gear

Season Tuvala Gear > Regular Tuvala Gear

Tuvala equipment is divided into season specific gear and regular gear. The differences are as follows:

- Season Tuvala Gear: Can only be worn by season characters, can be enhanced with Time-Filled Black Stones, can restore maximum durability with Tuvala Ore

- Regular Tuvala Gear: Can only be worn by regular characters, cannot be enhanced with Time-Filled Black Stones, cannot restore maximum durability with Tuvala Ore

▲ Season gear will have a special icon!

You can see which gear can be used on the season servers by looking for the icon shown above.

You can also convert season Tuvala gear into regular gear at the end of seasons or through season graduation!

▲ Regular Tuvala gear cannot be enhanced with Time-filled Black Stones.

Because you cannot enhance regular Tuvala gear, it is highly recommended to enhance to PEN (V) before it converts into regular gear!

- Season Tuvala Gear Converts Automatically at the end of Seasons

At the end of seasons, the season characters will convert into regular characters. Season Tuvala gear will also convert into regular Tuvala gear. If you have more than one of a particular Tuvala gear, then the highest level will be converted.
For example, if you have an unconverted “PEN (V): Tuvala Gloves” and “TRI (III): Tuvala Gloves” in your inventory or storage, then only the “PEN (V): Tuvala Gloves” will be converted. The TRI (III) will be removed.

- Conversion due to Graduation

You can convert season characters into regular characters by graduating! Follow the questline for graduation and upon graduating, you will be able to convert your gear!

Fughar’s Timepiece Guide ▶

f you are ready to graduate, you can speak to Leyla the Crow Merchants Guild Scribe in Velia after having met the graduation pre-requisites.

Alongside the graduation rewards are items that will allow you to convert your season Tuvala gear into normal Tuvala gear.

Reforming Tuvala Gear

You can further improve the capabilities of your Tuvala gear by reforming it!

Item Required Stone Effect
Tuvala Main/Awakening Weapon Combatant’s Stone (Weapon) Extra AP Against Monsters +7
Tuvala Sub-Weapon Combatant’s Stone (Weapon) Extra AP Against Monsters +3, Monster Damage Reduction +3
Tuvala Armor (Helmet, Armor, Gloves, Shoes) Combatant’s Stone (Armor) Monster Damage Reduction +7

You can obtain these special stones by heating Narchillan gear, but once this is done it cannot be reverted. Be very sure that you want to do this!

You can obtain Narchillan gear through PEN (V) Naru gear and through quests.
