Quests are an essential part of the game. Quests are designed to take you around the world at a comfortable pace, and also reward you for the time and effort you put into them.

Black Spirit Quests (Main Quests)

Black Spirit quests are the main quests given to you in the game. These quests can be accessed by talking to the Black Spirit (Default key: D-pad/D-button Down). These quests help to progress the story of the Black Desert World, and will reward you with many different rewards.

At times you may find that you are unsure how to continue with the Main Story Quest. By heading to the quest menu and selecting ‘Main’, you will be able to find the quest line you are on, and find out how to continue your main quest.

Optional Quests

Optional quests are scattered throughout the world. Sometimes you will find an NPC with a gold box above their head. This indicates that they are a quest giver. Once you accept the quest, that box will turn blue, and when the quest is completed it will turn red.

Recurring Quests

After you reach certain milestones in the game, you will be able to take part in repeatable quests. These quests can be given by NPC’s or by the Black Spirit, and will refresh at varying times. For quests that are given by NPC’s, they will look and act similar to optional quests. A gold box will appear above their head, and once completed it will turn red.

Other Quests

As there are many quests in Black Desert, some are disabled by default. You can enable them through the profile window found in the start menu.

Suggested Quests

Suggested Quests shows you quests which can help improve your character. From Inventory slots, to improved gear, these quests can help you get a foot up over the competition. You can find these quests by going to the quest menu, and pressing RB/R1 to show the Suggested Quests tab.

Finding Your Way to the Next Quest

Selecting a quest in the quest UI with A/X will open a sub menu that will present you with a list of options.

‘Move to’ will take you to the place where you can accept the quest, or where you need to go in order to complete the quest.

‘Navigate’ will set a waypoint on your map to the quest location.

‘Forfeit’ will cancel the quest and allow you to start the quest over again at a later time. This is useful especially if you accidentally delete an important quest item, or looking to pick up new quests when you have already reached the limit.

‘Learn More’ will bring up the quest information detailing the rewards available for the reward, as well as a short description of what the quest entails.
